DES021 Project 3 - Block Tower
The assignment consisted in creating a tower using 50 blocks - no more, no less - on SketchUp. The base grid forms an 8' x 8' square, and it subdivides into 256 smaller squares (16 across the top and 16 down the sides). All blocks had to be placed on gridlines, and the tower must reach a height of five blocks. The entrance to the block tower is from the south.
Here is the basic block module:
The final drawings had to include the following:
- Top View
- Floor Plan
- Two Elevations
- Two Sections
- One Isometric
My tower was inspired by Notre-Dame in Paris. I am French, and the recent fire made me want to include it in my work to honor this national and international monument.
